Gourmet Mushroom Grow Kit
Lion's Mane Mushroom Grow Kit
A patient grower for cooler kitchens, rewarding the wait with plump, shaggy clusters.
When conditions and care follow our instructions, we guarantee your first flush. Many growers get a second, and if you're lucky, a third.
Unpack it. Mist it. Watch it grow.
A quick walkthrough for setup, first harvest, and getting a second flush going.
A dedicated guide for Lion's Mane, from unpacking through to second flush.
Know your Lion's Mane kit
14-21 days. Worth the wait.
10-24°C. Prefers cooler, still conditions, keep it clear of drafts and air vents.
Your first flush yields enough for a meal for 1-2 people. Expect 2, sometimes 3 flushes in total, each noticeably smaller than the one before it.
Not ready to start? Pop it in the fridge. This puts your kit to sleep until you're ready to grow it, or gift it.
Dries out faster than the others. Mist it two to three times a day to keep it happy.

01
Prepare your kit
Open the box and remove the grow bag. Cut open the window on the front of the box, then cut along the X on the back of the bag. Handle it gently as you place it back, lining the cut up behind the window. Keep it somewhere clean, still and cool, away from drafts.

02
Hydrate, care and watch them grow
Spray the substrate lightly until damp, not soaking. Lion's Mane dries out faster than other varieties, so mist it 2-3 times a day. Once mushrooms have pinned, mist around them, never directly onto them, they don't like it and it can damage the delicate spines.
-
03
Harvest
Harvest once the white spines are clearly formed, about 0.5-1cm long, and the cluster feels firm but spongy, usually 10-14 days after pinning. Twist the cluster gently at the base rather than cutting, to protect the mycelium.

04
Reset for the next flush
Remove any leftover stems and tape the original X closed. Cut a new X on another side of the bag, place it back with the new opening behind the window, and keep misting as before.
Why we love them
Shaggy, versatile, endlessly cookable
Lion's Mane produces plump, dense, shaggy clusters, and it's one of the most versatile mushrooms you can grow. Cook it fresh, dry it for later, or steep it as a tea. Its texture makes it a favourite for meatless crab cakes, and a satisfying stand-in wherever you'd reach for a hearty, meaty bite.
